Act I

Nora: Nora is Helmer's wife. They seem like a lovely couple but Nora acts like a little child and Helmer treats her like one. She is always asking for money and even though Helmer keeps telling her that she needs to be more conservative with their money, he gives it to her anyways. She gets into a little trouble with their money concerning the health of her husband, Torvald.

Helmer: Helmer is Nora's husband. He is obsessed with saving money even though he gives all of it away to his wife. He is constantly making little pet names for Nora such as "my little skylark" or "songbird". The person who Nora has to turn to to save Helmer's life is Krogstad.

Krogstad: Krogstad is a former coworker of Helmer. Nora asks Krogstad for twelve thousand dollars to go to Italy and save her husbands life. Krogstad figures out that Nora's father didn't sign a document and is threatening to use that against Nora in court. Krogstad was also in trouble with the law because he forged himself.

The setting takes place in Norway. Throughout the whole play they are in Nora's and Helmer's house. It takes place around Christmas time.

  2. This Johnel. I basically agreed on everything you said, how Nora and Helmer are. I have a question: do we have to comment and post with proper grammer?
